It is practiced since ancient times. Babylonians, Egyptians during Pharaoh's rule, and ancient Chinese civilization used cupping therapy for various ailments.
In those days metal cups, pieces of bamboo tree stem, and bull's horn were used.
When cup is applied on the skin surface and vacuum is created, it draws toxins, impurities, and all waste in the blood. Small cuts are given on that area where cup was applied. Blood is drained in cup. By this procedure homeostasis of the body is restored. Balance of the body fluids is corrected.

There are three types of cupping, the original method is wet cupping.

1. Wet Cupping

In this method, cup is applied with vacuum, small cuts given and then blood is drawn.

2. Dry Cupping

In this cuts are not given so blood is not drawn. Rest of the procedure is like wet cupping.

3. Moving Cupping or Sliding Cupping

In this technique, cup is moved over the different areas of the skin while attached to the skin maintaining the vacuum. So circulation of blood increases to the skin.
Cupping is used for a variety of illnesses as well as healthy states. It maintains the health and cures the illnesses as well. Cupping applies pressure ten centimeters deep to the skin. It also stimulates acupuncture and acupressure points. It also releases endorphins, which are natural pain killers. Dry and wet cupping leave skin discoloration and cuts which heal in few weeks and no marks or scars are left. There is no reason to fear.
In short, cupping therapy is cost-effective, time-tested, and easy procedure. It eliminates toxins, increases blood circulation, and lymphatic circulation. It is great remedy for migraine, epilepsy, anxiety, and a lot of psychiatric problems.
