Pediculosis. Or Body Lice

Body lice are usually found on those human bodies where there is no concept of cleanliness of the bodies. The people who have long hairs usually have lice on their scalp. But those people who keep their bodies clean and wash their bodies once in a week, are usually free of germs and lice.

There are many different kinds of lice, they differ in their sizes and shapes and location in the host bodies. They belong to the parasite group of germ, which solely depend on the host for their food and shelter. They usually suck the blood of host on which they live. Other examples of parasites include scabies and intestinal worms.

Types of body lice:

1. Pediculus humanus capitis

They reside on human scalp/head hairs.

2. Pediculus humanus corporis

They are found on the human bodies.

3. Pediculus humanus pubis

They reside in the hairs below the naval or pubic hairs, particularly in cold countries.

Pediculosis is usually found in areas where there is lack of water and people can't wash themselves and in cold weather conditions where there is ice and snow and lack of warm water. In many countries of the world there is no habit of washing the perineal area after defecation, and shaving the perineal area of hairs. So pubic lice are found there in most of the population.

Cure of pediculosis or body lice:

Use comb

Combing the hairs extracts the lice and their eggs. You will have to use the small slits comb. Move the comb from top to the front, back, and sides. Clean the comb after combing each side.

Use Herbal Lotion 

Take following herbs:

1. Benzoin resin         15 gm 

2. Myrrh                       15 gm 

3. Watercress seeds  20 gm

4. Natural vinegar       500 gm 

Boil all the herbs in the vinegar for 5 minutes at low heat. Strain the mixture and keep in a bottle either plastic bottle or glass bottle. Apply this lotion on head hairs and leave it overnight. In the morning wash your head hairs. This lotion will kill not only your head lice but also any kind of bacteria in your head skin or on your head hairs. Because the myrrh used in this lotion is a powerful antiseptic.

Take Bath Regularly And Change Your Clothes 

Take bath daily and change your clothes if it is feasible for you. Wash your body thoroughly and dry it because lice flouish in wet places.

You should take bath on alternate days, skip one day and take bath on next day. If you can't do this then take a bath atleast weekly. Taking 

bath once in a week is a must you can't ignore that. After taking bath always apply some perfume because it kills lice.

Best Herbal Perfumes 

Benzoin resin, oud al-hindi or agar and sweetflag are best perfume and anti-worms and anti-septic. Any of these perfumes if applied on clothes will kill the lice and bacteria.
